Practical information

The Banks in Denmark are open Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 4pm. However, on Thursday they are open until 6pm. Furthermore, machines for cash with drawal and money exchange are found outside the banks, and are open 24 hours a day.
Denmark, Sweden and Great Britain are not part of the Euro-cooperation, which means that in Denmark the Danish crown is still the used currency. However, most restaurants and hotels allow you to pay with Euro. Personal checks from outside Denmark and traveller's checks are usually not accepted in most shops, but the banks will exchange Euro checks and official traveller's checks. Nevertheless most shops accept Euro and traveller's checks issued in Danish crowns, as well as credit cards like the Visa Card.
Lost property can be picked up at the local police stations, where the lost property office is situated.
For phone calls outside Denmark dial 00 + the country area code + the number of the person you are trying to reach. When you call within Denmark the prefix +45 is not used.
